Description from the seller
Papal Apostolic Blessing – Pius XI (1922-1939)
Rare Catholic devotion document richly illuminated, featuring a photographic portrait of Pope Pius XI, accompanied by a personalized apostolic blessing granted to “Marguerite Schwertfeger and her family”.
The document is adorned with polychrome historiated initials, papal arms and an important dry seal of the Vatican. The text grants the apostolic blessing as well as the plenary indulgence in articulo mortis (at the hour of death), according to the official formula then in use.
Signed by Carolus Pansoni, bishop and officer of the Roman Curia, with a handwritten note dated 11 April 1920. The old gilded frame is preserved.
Good overall condition, with slight signs of use commensurate with age.
The photos are an integral part of the description of the objects and complement the presentation. They allow appreciation of their state and features. Please examine them carefully before bidding.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped with a tracking number, to ensure fast and secure delivery.
Happy bidding
