Description from the seller
**Pair of Bentwood Chairs in Thonet Style – Late 19th / Early 20th Century**
Elegant pair of **antique bentwood chairs**, inspired by the famous **Thonet** models, characterized by the classic double-curve backrest and the traditional **round seat woven with Vienna straw**. The light, harmonious forms, obtained through the renowned technique of **steam-bent wood**, represent one of the most iconic symbols of Central European production from the late 19th century to the early decades of the 20th century.
Both chairs feature a **black ebonized finish**, today enriched by an authentic patina and clear signs of time that attest to their age and use. The seats retain the characteristic Vienna straw weaving, while the frame preserves the essential, timeless charm of Thonet design.
**Conditions to review**: the chairs show widespread wear of the finishes, abrasions, discolorations, small conservation defects and visible signs of use, as documented by the photographs. No production marks or labels were found. An ideal pair for a conservative restoration intervention, perfect for collectors, interior designers or enthusiasts of historic bentwood design.
