Description from the seller
This is a pair of twin five-arm candelabras, characterized by a design that fuses the purity of the geometric lines of the Modern Movement with the excellence of artisanal Argentine silverworking.
The Shaft and the Spheres: The central structure rises from the base via a stylized, smooth conical shaft. The vertical axis is interrupted by two textured ornamental spheres (a lower one acting as a joining node and an upper one crowning the axis). These spheres feature a rough or finely chiselled finish that deliberately contrasts with the mirror-polished rest of the piece.
The Arms: From the central node emerge four curved tubular arms with circular cross-sections. They unfold symmetrically in a “U” shape or stylized volute, rising to the same height as the central wick holder to form the five light points on a single horizontal plane.
The Wicks and Holders: Each arm ends in a smooth cylindrical wick holder flaring at the mouth, designed to receive standard candles. The fixed plates or integrated rings are subtle and minimalist.
The Base and Stamps: The ensemble rests on a convex, smooth circular base, free of moldings. On the outer perimeter edge of the base lie two manufacturing punches applied by striking: a vertical elliptical cartridge (indicating the purity contrast of the metal) and an upper circular stamp that corresponds to the workshop mark or the silversmith’s authorship.
