Pair of Art Nouveau-style toilette furniture in wood, marble and mirror - c. 1900.
Elegant pair of dressing tables or bedside tables influenced by Art Nouveau, made in solid and veneered wood, featuring rectangular marble tops in cream- and pink-toned shades.
Each piece has an upper drawer and a lower compartment closed by a door, preserving period metal hardware. The fronts are decorated with floral carvings and oval insets with vegetal motifs. At the bottom there are slatted shelves, supported by straight legs.
The elevated backs include rectangular mirrors, topped by scalloped pediments with carved floral appliqués. The doors open in opposite directions, confirming this is a true pair.
