This Italian manual wine corking machine, dating from 1910–1920, is made of wood, cast iron and wrought iron and is in fair condition, very well used with small parts probably missing.
Description from the seller
Splendid and evocative example of a bench-mounted corking/bottling tool, dating to the first half of the 20th century (circa 1910–1940), typical of European wine-making and rural tradition.
This instrument was used in private cellars and on farms for bottling wine, enabling the press-fit insertion of cork stoppers thanks to an ingenious lever-driven mechanical system.
The vertical load-bearing frame is made of sturdy dark solid wood, while the articulated compression mechanism and the long operating lever are entirely in cast iron and wrought iron. At the bottom there is the original bottle housing with a wooden sliding drawer and knob.
A piece of exceptional visual charm, ideal as an ethno-anthropological collection item, a decorative element for taverns, wine shops, agriturismos, or for shop window displays.
Details and Conditions:
• Materials: Solid wood, cast iron, iron.
