Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Spanish golden-finished iron umbrella stand from the 1970s, with a hammered and embossed surface, riveted arrow-shaped details and movable forged handles.
Description from the seller
Gilded iron umbrella stand, made in the 1960s or 1970s.
The metallic surface displays intense artisanal hammering and repoussé work, with a repetitive texture of small stamped circles running across the entire body of the vessel and catching light in a vibrant way. This tactile richness, characteristic of many brutalist forged-iron pieces, contrasts with the geometric severity of the silhouette. The toothed upper edge and riveted applications emphasize its constructive, industrial character, openly celebrating fabrication processes and the materiality of metal.
On the front, striking decorative clamps in the shape of an arrow or heraldic motif stand out, made with riveted straps that run vertically along the cylinder and visually reinforce the composition. On both sides appear mobile forging handles, suspended from curved supports, which provide formal balance and evoke elements typical of ceremonial vessels or ancient containers reinterpreted with a modern sensibility.
The golden patina, with warm tones and aged nuances, softens the bluntness of the structure and adds a decorative dimension very characteristic of seventies productions, when brutalism began to dialogue with more sophisticated and luxurious finishes. The result is a functional piece transformed into a sculptural object, capable of integrating into both modernist and brutalist interiors as well as eclectic environments where one seeks a decor accent with strong personality and a marked architectural presence.
Certified shipping and careful packaging.
