Description from the seller

Of course. For eBay, I recommend highlighting ACMAT, VLRA, TPK 4.35, 1/32 scale, 17th RCS, display model and display case, while being cautious about attributing it to Intermaquettes since the underside cannot be examined.

eBay title
RARE ACMAT VLRA TPK 4.35 1/32 Military Model Display Case 17th RCS Intermaquettes?

Detailed description to copy onto eBay
RARE ACMAT VLRA 4×4 TPK 4.35 MILITARY MODEL – LARGE SCALE, APPROX. 1/32 – DIORAMA UNDER DISPLAY CASE – 17th RCS

I am offering for sale this very interesting and uncommon ACMAT military model, depicting a VLRA 4×4 all-terrain vehicle from the TPK 4.35 family, presented in a genuine diorama under a clear display case.

This is not an ordinary small military miniature: the vehicle alone measures approximately 20 cm long, 7 cm wide and about 7 cm high.

The complete set is particularly impressive, with a display case measuring approximately:
35 cm long × 18 cm deep × 16 cm high.

The vehicle is depicted in a military configuration, with its open cab, rear canvas cover, transport benches, side-mounted spare wheel, equipment and various body details.

The model is set in a terrain scene featuring vegetation, ground depicting a natural environment and landscape elements.

ACMAT IDENTIFICATION PLAQUE

One particularly interesting feature of this piece is the plaque on the base bearing the ACMAT/ALM designation and the vehicle reference.

It appears to read:
ACMAT – ALM Division
VLRA 4×4 – TPK 4.35 SMT

This identification is consistent with the family of famous VLRAs (Véhicules de Liaison, de Reconnaissance et d'Appui) produced by ACMAT.

MILITARY GIFT FROM THE 17th RCS

A second plaque attached to the base bears the inscription:
“GIFT FROM THE LIEUTENANTS OF THE 17th R.C.S”

This feature adds further interest to the model as a regimental memento or gift.

The 17th RCS is the 17th Command and Support Regiment of the French Army.

This is therefore probably not simply a miniature later placed in a display case by a collector, but a presentation piece assembled as a military gift/memento.

INTERMAQUETTES POSSIBILITY – ACMAT DISPLAY MODEL

Research into this model has proved particularly interesting.

It is documented that the French model maker Intermaquettes produced large-scale ACMAT VLRA models, particularly in 1/32 scale, for promotional purposes for ACMAT.

These large models were intended in particular for display and exhibition, unlike the common small industrial miniatures produced in scales such as 1/50 or 1/43.

1/32-scale ACMAT VLRA 4.35 troop transport models attributed to Intermaquettes are documented in specialist literature devoted to ACMAT military miniatures.

The dimensions, general configuration and several features of the example offered here are consistent with this category of professional 1/32-scale models.

Documented Intermaquettes models could include white metal, as well as various metal components and a vacuum-formed canvas cover.

IMPORTANT:

As the display case for this example is currently closed, I have deliberately not tried to dismantle it to access the underside of the model.

It has therefore not been possible to check for a possible signature or mark beneath the vehicle.

For this reason, attribution to Intermaquettes is offered as a serious possibility but is not guaranteed.

Buyers are invited to form their own opinion based on the many photographs.

CONDITION

There may be dust, small marks, and signs of age or use on the display case, base and diorama, which are normal for a vintage item of this type.

I have not dismantled or restored it, in order to preserve the integrity of the set.

The photographs form an integral part of the description.

OF INTEREST TO COLLECTORS

A particularly interesting set for collections devoted to:
French military vehicles – ACMAT – VLRA – TPK vehicles – vintage military miniatures – professional models – French militaria – regimental mementos – 17th RCS – French Army vehicles – 1/32-scale models – objects of military tradition.
