Description from the seller
Kartell table lamp model 4034 Vademecum, designed by Joe Colombo, year 1968, Italy.
Iconic and rare out-of-production model, consisting of a stamped Cycolac ABS body, orange, and a perforated chrome metal lampshade at the top.
The lamp uses two small bulbs that can be turned on individually or together; the lampshade can be raised upwards or folded, these features allow different lighting options.
The lamp is listed in the Skira catalog "Joe Colombo" on pages 188–189 (see photo):
"Vademecum is a table lamp with a Cycolac plastic base and a stainless steel lampshade. Both parts are connected by a pin that keeps the lampshade upright during use, but also allows folding the lamp into a parallelepiped to protect the bulb during transport. The model is no longer produced."
Condition: excellent, normal signs (scratches) from use and age, no burns or heat-induced deformation (very common), vintage electrical system, functioning.
The manufacturer's mark is embossed on the bottom.
