Traditional Moroccan Koummya Dagger in Ebony and Engraved Metal – Mid-20th Century
Description:
A splendid antique Koummya dagger, originally from Morocco (Berber region), dating from the mid-20th century (circa 1940–1960). Handcrafted to a very high standard.
Handle: Made from fine dark hardwood (ebony) in the traditional peacock’s tail shape, embellished with central and side metal plates finely engraved with a burin.
Blade and Scabbard: Both cold-stamped with the characteristic geometric floral mark of the period’s craftsman. Scabbard entirely hand-chiselled with traditional geometric motifs.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition, solid, with slight signs of ageing that attest to its authenticity. The wood is intact with no structural cracks.
Perfect for collectors of ethnic bladed weapons, militaria or as a rare decorative item.
