Description from the seller

GENERAL

This unit represents one of the pinnacles of British motorsport in the 1950s: the Austin-Healey 100M BN2. This model is a high-performance variant born from the brand’s success in the legendary French endurance race, and it is distinguished by its pure sporting character and unmistakable aesthetics. The vehicle we are dealing with was originally unveiled on the US market, to be imported to Spain seven years ago. It is an exceptionally rare example that retains its factory-original mechanical configuration. Given its authenticity and year of manufacture, this model is a highly coveted piece that is fully eligible to participate in the world’s most prestigious historic events, including the legendary Mille Miglia (if your second surname is Nuvolari, of course), where Austin-Healey 100s have traditionally been protagonists for their agility and endurance. It comes with its Heritage certificate, available in the photo reportage.

CARROCERÍA Y PINTURA

The aesthetics of this 100M are simply spectacular, boasting the iconic two-tone combination in white and blue that highlights Gerry Coker’s fluid lines. The bodywork features the specific M-model revision, which includes the characteristic foldable windscreen to reduce wind resistance and the spoked wheels that complete its classic appearance. The car underwent a very high-level restoration carried out by specialist professionals, which today translates into an intense, deep gloss. Defects are minimal and barely perceptible, maintaining an immaculate presence that denotes the obsessively careful treatment to which it has been subjected.

MECÁNICA

Under the hood lies the original heart of an “M,” a robust and powerful powertrain that runs in perfect condition. The mechanical management has been exemplary; although it belongs to a private collection where use has been modest, the vehicle has benefited from constant maintenance by an internal mechanic dedicated exclusively to the collection. Recently a full tune-up has been performed to ensure that the engine and gearbox respond with precision. The car is kept in operation regularly through short courtesy drives, guaranteeing that all fluids and mechanical components are in an optimal operating state for its new owner.

INTERIOR

The cabin is a time capsule that transports us to the golden era of roadsters. Equipped with the correct bucket seats for this version, the interior was restored with top-quality materials a few years ago. Due to the minimal use since completion, the upholstery, dashboard, and instruments are preserved virtually as new, maintaining that elegant racing atmosphere that defines the 100M. The lower parts of the vehicle are in superb condition, free of rust and corrosion, aided by always being kept in a garage within Madrid’s dry climate.

DOCUMENTACIÓN

Transparency and history are fundamental pillars for this exemplar. The car is delivered with an exhaustive documentation folder that includes authenticity certificates validating its origin and specifications. It also comes with the original owner’s manuals and all the documentation necessary for its transfer. The traceability from its arrival in Spain is fully guaranteed, confirming that we are dealing with a secure investment and a properly certified collectible object.

RECOGIDA

The car is located in Madrid, Spain. After the unit is awarded, the seller offers courtesy storage for ten days at his facilities to facilitate the logistics of transport and collection by the new owner.

OTRA INFORMACIÓN

Acquiring this Austin-Healey 100M is not just buying a car, but obtaining a piece of Le Mans history. It is an exceptional opportunity for collectors seeking a car ready to enjoy both on open roads and in the most demanding European regularity rallies. The combination of its original engine, impeccable condition, and eligibility for Mille Miglia place it on a higher rung within the international classic car market.
It runs perfectly and a tune-up has just been carried out because although it is used very little, the collector who owned it has an in-house mechanic who keeps all his cars running and makes short trips so they stay functional.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
