This Italian lot comprises an 800-silver hand-hammered cup by Argenteria Rino Greggio, about 11 cm high, and a pierced coaster by a different maker, with the coaster engraved with the initials “C.M.”; the items are in fair condition, very worn, with small pieces possibly missing.
Description from the seller
lot in solid 800 silver, consisting of a glass (ideal for liqueur or ceremonial use) and a perforated coaster. The two objects, while integrating aesthetically in a splendid way, form a set composed because they come from different manufacturers and companies.
Characteristics of the Glass:
• Manufacturer: Argenteria Rino Greggio (Padua, Italy).
• Hallmarks: bears the title 800 in an oval and the prestigious legally registered maker's mark ☆ 29 PD (active since 1968).
• Workmanship: Stunning surface entirely hand-hammered, creating exceptional plays of light, finished at the bottom with a perforated "openwork" band.
• Dimensions: Height approximately 11.5 cm.
Characteristics of the Coaster:
• Manufacture: Italian antique craftsmanship (roughly 1940s / 1950s).
• Hallmarks: Stamped only with the 800 silver mark inside a short oval (without an artisan mark, typical of small era workshops).
• Workmanship: Elegant raised edge with a geometrically pierced frieze. On the inner bottom is the personalized contemporaneous initials engraving "C.M.".
