Mask of the Yaoure from the collection.
The Yaure, a people of Akan descent, are known above all for their impressive masks. Although they show elements of their neighbors, the Baule and Guro, they possess some distinctive features that make them particularly appealing. The most common of these features are the jagged edges around the face.
