Description from the seller

Russian icon painted in tempera on a wooden board depicting the Holy Martyrs of Edessa: Guria, Samona and Abibo (Gury, Samon and Aviv), traditionally venerated in the Orthodox tradition as protectors of marriage, the family, and conjugal harmony.
The three saints are shown full-length on a dark background with radiating halos and identifying inscriptions in Slavic-ecclesiastical Cyrillic characters at the top. In the center is the deacon Abibo with golden liturgical vestments and a thurible in his right hand; to the sides the saints Guria and Samona bear the cross of martyrdom.
Massive panel with traces of lateral/posterior containment wedges (sponki). Russian devotional execution dating to the late 19th to early 20th century.
