AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Stunning travel sewing kit (lady's case) from the Napoleonic III / Victorian era (late 19th century).

Exceptional item: The original thimble is made of solid silver of French manufacture.
It bears two hallmarks: the master silversmith's mark in a lozenge and the official state guarantee mark (small mark).
Beautiful chasing and in very good condition.

Structure & Design: Original rigid black leather case that cleverly unfolds into a tent-like shape or a table easel. Original interior lined with magnificent royal blue velvet and satin.
Includes a courtesy mirror in its upper section.

Included accessories: Four embroidery and fine sewing tools with their original white handles (bone/ivory).

Original pouch and labels containing English sewing needles from the famous Redditch manufacturer. The main label bears the royal inscription "Improved Best Sharps Size 6 - Warranted not to cut in the eye".

Condition: Fine overall wear. A leather belt loop in the center is currently empty (it likely originally held a small pair of folding scissors or a needle threader).

Leather patina and the freshness of the velvet are quite remarkable for an object of this age.
