Description from the seller

Beautiful and rare rectangular baking dish produced in Italy by Argenteria Calegaro in Padua.

The dish is rectangular and made of high-quality silver-plated. Both the lid and the base are in excellent condition, very shiny. Inside is a glass tray.

Perfect for serving food at table with great style.

Dimensions: 49 x 25 x 14 cm

It should be noted that at three corners the metal base has defects highlighted in the latest photographs. These defects do not affect the use or prestige of the piece.

Calegaro: in Bresseo di Teolo, an excellence of silverware.
Luigi Calegaro opened the eponymous shop in 1921, becoming the fourth silversmith in Padua with the brand 4PD. In the postwar years the production of handcrafted pieces grew rapidly to the highest quality standards. The second generation led by his son Francesco helped solidify the Calegaro brand worldwide.
To this day, the company is a solid representative of Made in Italy and its excellence and elegance in the creation of luxury silverware, jewelry, tableware, flatware, and design objects.
Its brand has contributed to the evolution of taste, habits, traditions, and creative trends, collaborating with major international names such as Tiffany & Co., Bulgari, Hermès, Buccellati, and many others. On October 25, 2019, the new exhibition space “1921 Spazio Calegaro 2021” was inaugurated inside Villa Calegaro in Teolo, the company’s main headquarters, available by appointment. This space is presented as the museum of jewelry and tableware that tells a century of stories of silver and silversmiths, of artifacts and production processes, and of the long tradition embodied by the Calegaro family.

Excellent overall condition, minimal imperfections shown in the photograph.

Seller's Story

My name is Riccardo. I recently graduated in Art History from the University of Florence and I am passionate about porcelain. From tableware to artistic vases, from figurines to tea and coffee sets, I am fascinated by the mastery and creativity of great artisans and designers who manage to shape this fragile material, transforming a rough mass into masterpieces with a story to tell. During my years at university I began to become interested in the history of nineteenth- and twentieth-century tableware; today, every day, I deal with prestigious porcelain pieces that always have something to say to me and to those who purchase them. I love that every day I can discover more about the objects I find while traveling around Italy, always learning something new. I always try to convey to my clients this passion I have for the objects I sell, certain that each of them has a story to tell: that of the creator, that of the one who preserved it, and that of the person who will give it a new life.
