HISTORY / OVERVIEW
The Morris Mini Cooper MKI is a revolutionary compact car designed to offer maximum interior space and lively handling in an extremely small package, thanks to innovative features such as front-wheel drive and a transverse engine.
The example offered at auction is a 1964 model, from the first Mk I Cooper series produced in England, and has only had an exterior repaint in its original color in the past. It is equipped with its original factory 998 cc engine and is presented in the distinctive Almond Green color with an Old English White roof, enhanced by chrome trim and the details typical of the series.
EXTERIOR
The bodywork is finished in its original Almond Green with an Old English White roof. It was repainted by a previous owner and is now in good overall condition, with only minimal signs of use and age. The chrome is bright and in good condition, as are the car's various original details. A polishing and detailing treatment was recently completed.
The underbody is in solid overall condition and was restored a few years ago. The car is roadworthy.
INTERIOR
The interior is in good overall condition and remains original, with rare features such as the dashboard, steering wheel, and details characteristic of the first series. The door panels are in beautiful condition, as are the dashboard and all the rare details. The headliner is also in good overall condition and retains its original features.
The cabin was recently cleaned and sanitized.
MECHANICAL
Mechanically, the car has its original engine, as confirmed by the engine number in the registration document and its Heritage Certificate of Origin. The original 998 cc engine was recently started and is running. The clutch and gears also work correctly; however, the technical inspection expired many years ago, and a routine general service check is always recommended before regular use and the next technical inspection.
This first-series Morris Mini Cooper is a particularly interesting example thanks to its original interior and exterior configuration, black Florence license plates, and original factory engine. Its characteristic Almond Green and Old English White two-tone finish and original interior make this beautiful Mini a rare car.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
