Description from the seller
Antique Dressing Table / Coiffeuse with Tilting Mirror in Solid Wood – Late 19th / Early 20th Century
Description:
A charming and refined bedroom dressing table (coiffeuse) dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, distinguished by excellent craftsmanship.
The piece is topped with a splendid central tilting mirror, supported by richly carved uprights featuring scroll and volute motifs. The lower section has a spacious tabletop and two practical front drawers, enhanced by the original period metal escutcheons and crafted handles. The front legs are elegantly turned with ring motifs, typical of the eclectic style of the period, while the rear legs have a simpler, cleaner profile.
Highlights for collectors:
* Structural integrity: The piece is structurally sound and sturdy. The back panel is made entirely of solid wood from the same period, attesting to its authenticity and period quality (no modern plywood whatsoever).
* Condition of the wood: The piece has NO woodworm, active or otherwise.
* Condition: Good overall condition, with its original aged patina. The only issue is a light circular mark on the tabletop (cup-shaped), which can easily be removed with a light restoration or localized polishing. The mirror and handles are intact and original. The drawers can be locked.
Shipping note: We are happy to accommodate collection in person by the buyer or to coordinate with a carrier of your choice.
