Description from the seller
GENERAL:
Finished in black, this 1989 Bentley Turbo R represented the pinnacle of luxury and high performance from the British marque in its day. Originally launched in 1985 to replace the Mulsanne Turbo, the Turbo R marked a major milestone for Bentley by incorporating a substantially improved suspension with stiffer anti-roll bars and revised damping, transforming the chassis handling to precisely manage the more than 300 hp produced by its legendary supercharged 6.75-liter V8 engine. The “R” in its name pays tribute to this focus on “Roadholding.” With 177,000 miles recorded, this example sat unused for four years, exposed to the elements in the driveway of a restaurant as an advertising attraction. According to the seller, the vehicle was used by Diego Armando Maradona during his time in Barcelona, an anecdote that adds considerable historical interest and potential collector value to the car.
BODYWORK AND PAINT:
The black paint has suffered damage from being parked outdoors and requires a complete repaint. Although it has just been polished, restoring some of its shine, it needs more extensive repairs. The bodywork shows no signs of accidents and is generally in quite good condition, except for the rear fenders and the base of the rear window, where there are paint blisters caused by rust underneath. The underside is in very good condition, with no structural rust, and an extensive photographic report taken on a lift is available for inspection.
MECHANICAL:
The engine and gearbox work perfectly. The car starts properly both cold and hot, delivering a very smooth drive combined with strong power, while the transmission shifts smoothly. Various maintenance work has just been carried out, supported by invoices. There is slight oil seepage at the reservoir cap.
INTERIOR:
The cabin retains its original white leather, with wear consistent with its age and mileage. It is missing its radio unit, and some of the wood trim has minor weather-related damage that requires repair. The power seats and wing mirrors are currently not working, while all the instruments on the dashboard operate correctly.
DOCUMENTATION:
The vehicle has just passed its roadworthiness test with no defects and is currently undergoing the process of being registered as a historic vehicle. Invoices for the recent maintenance work are included.
COLLECTION:
The car is located in Madrid, Spain. If it is purchased at auction, 20 days of free storage are offered.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
