Description from the seller
GENERAL:
This 1954 Bentley R-Type has approximately 33,000 miles on the odometer. The Bentley R-Type is a flagship postwar model, originally introduced in 1952 as the successor to the Mark VI and known for being one of the fastest and most comfortable luxury cars of its era. Equipped with the distinctive inline-six engine and legendary smoothness of operation, this vehicle has been actively used over the last 15 years for events and weddings. Given its use on such special occasions, it has received careful maintenance to ensure maximum reliability, highlighting a recent complete overhaul of the automatic transmission carried out by a specialist, with an invoice totaling €7,000.
BODYWORK AND PAINT:
The body is in generally good condition and shows no signs of collision damage. It presents a very harmonious two-tone combination in dark gray, with a high-gloss finish on the lower areas and a shaded paint on the upper areas. The roof shows a slight loss of color due to time and regular use.
MECHANICAL:
The engine starts perfectly in both cold and hot conditions, offering excellent on-road behavior and notable reliability. The automatic transmission operates smoothly after the recent documented intervention. Underneath, there is no rust; they are in good condition and show only the minor oil or fluid seepages typical of vehicles from this era, not a cause for concern.
INTERIOR:
The seats have been completely reupholstered and are like new, while the door panels retain their original upholstery, showing wear appropriate for its age. The wood trim and inlays are in good overall condition, with virtually no cracks or damage.
DOCUMENTATION:
The detailed invoice for €7,000 corresponding to the recent automatic transmission repair is attached.
PICK-UP:
The car is located in Madrid, Spain. Once the vehicle is awarded, up to 20 days of storage are offered at no additional cost.
OTHER INFORMATION:
Because of its recent history and excellent value for money, it represents a highly profitable investment for professionals in the classic car rental or event services sectors.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
