Description from the seller

GENERAL:
1972 Triumph TR6 located in Spain, with Spanish registration, 56,000 km, and in very good condition with minimal signs of wear. Unveiled in late 1968 with a redesigned body by German coachbuilder Karmann, based on the TR5, the TR6 became the best-selling model in Triumph’s prolific TR series thanks to its muscular styling and classic inline-six engine. This particular car was purchased in May 2023 in Moraira (Alicante) through Club55 Classic Cars from a Belgian collector. During that period, an English mechanic who specialized in the car’s maintenance was tempted to buy it for himself because of its remarkable condition. The vehicle had undergone an earlier restoration, although the exact year of the work is not recorded.

BODYWORK AND PAINT:
The paint retains a deep shine despite having been applied several years ago, with no fading thanks to the car having always been kept in a garage. There is no visible damage to the red bodywork paint, only a few minor scratches consistent with use and the passage of time. The soft top is in very good condition, suggesting it was probably replaced during the previous restoration. Some typical age- and use-related surface rust is visible underneath, along with light marks from scraping a speed bump or curb, with no structural consequences. The car also comes with a protective cover for use in the garage.

MECHANICAL:
Fitted with a six-cylinder engine fed by carburettors rather than fuel injection, paired with a manual gearbox without overdrive. It has upgraded independent suspension. The ignition system has been modified from the original: the key connects the battery, and a button starts the engine. The car starts easily both cold and hot, offering the reliability needed to enjoy it at classic car events and outings.

INTERIOR:
The cabin retains its traditional layout, with the dashboard wood showing slight fading that would benefit from a fresh coat of varnish to look its best. The speedometer/odometer is working, although the needle wavers considerably and does not indicate speed entirely accurately.

DOCUMENTATION:
The vehicle has Spanish registration and paperwork in order for transfer.

COLLECTION:
The car is located in Madrid, Spain. If the car is awarded to a buyer, 10 days of free storage are offered to arrange collection or transport.

OTHER INFORMATION:
A car ready to be enjoyed, kept indoors and accompanied by its protective cover.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
