Description from the seller

HIGHLIGHTS
* Supplied with a Federperiti Conformity Guarantee Inspection Report
* Originally delivered new in Italy
* Preserved in original condition
* Retains its original black license plates and page-format registration booklet
* Original spare wheel

HISTORY / OVERVIEW
The Sunbeam Alpine is one of the most elegant and highly regarded British roadsters of the 1960s, distinguished by its sleek, sporty lines and designed to offer an enjoyable and engaging driving experience. Built by Rootes, the Alpine belongs to the tradition of classic British sports cars of the period, combining style, mechanical simplicity and the pleasure of open-top motoring.

The car offered at auction is a 1963 Sunbeam Alpine, from the years when the model was at its most popular. It is one of the very few examples originally delivered new in Italy, and retains its black license plates and original page-format registration booklet.

EXTERIOR
The body was repainted by the previous owner in its original color. The paintwork remains in good overall condition, with some signs of age appropriate for a car that has been preserved and never restored. It recently received a polishing and detailing treatment, which has enhanced its appearance. The chrome is in good condition, and the original factory details are well preserved.

An inspection using a paint thickness gauge revealed no signs of accident damage. The underbody is generally very solid and original, as expected for a car that has been kept indoors.

INTERIOR
The interior is original, preserved and never restored, and shows normal signs of age and use.
The dashboard retains its original period instruments, odometer and factory steering wheel. The soft top is present and complete, along with the various hard-to-find details, and has a beautiful original patina.

MECHANICAL
The car is fitted with its original engine, which is in good condition. It was recently started again, with a new battery fitted; it starts easily and can be driven on private property. However, its roadworthiness inspection expired before 2018. Given the car's limited use in recent years, routine maintenance may be required before regular use and the next inspection.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
