This pair of Dutch brass vases by Daalderop, dating from circa 1910–1915, features Art Nouveau and Wiener Secession styling and measures 25 cm high by 17 cm wide, with small indentations to each vase.
Description from the seller
AN EXTREMELY RARE PAIR OF ANTIQUE DUTCH DAALDEROP SECESSIONIST BRASS VASES.
They measure 25 cms tall and 17 cms wide ( max )
Fully stamped to the underside with the impressed mark for the renowned Dutch maker J N DAALDEROP & ZONEN from Tiel, Netherlands; one vase also has an impressed letter 'T' and the other the letter 'M'.
The design showcases fabulous & rare stylised handles, almost in the form of abstract geometric flower heads and stems , and are heavily influenced by the Vienna Secessionist and the Amsterdam School movements.
Probably date from circa 1910-15.
Both vases are in lovely clean antique condition, but please note that both vases have a single shallow, smooth indentation/depression on the main body (located on one side only). I have carefully photographed these, angled against the light, so please carefully inspect those photos ( 8 & 9 ) to satisfy yourself. Fortunately, these imperfections are localised on both to just one side ....They obviously display perfectly when displayed from the 'front' side.
A fabulous rare pair of vases for any collector of European early-20th century metalware or Secessionist design.
