The Sony TC-RX50 is an advanced single-cassette deck with auto-reverse, released by Sony around 1988. The deck is known for its solid mechanical construction and high-quality sound reproduction.
In addition, a more luxurious variant was also released at the time under Sony's high-end audio line, the TC-RX50ES.
Key specifications & features
Laser amorphic sound heads: Equipped with high-quality LC-OFC wrapped heads that ensure long life and optimal performance with any type of tape.
Noise reduction: Features Dolby B and Dolby C Noise Reduction.
Tape string switch: Automatic or manual selection for Normal (Type I), Chrome (Type II) and Metal (Type IV) cassettes.
Super-Bias: Dynamic adjustment of the premagnetization (bias-frequency shift) for better recordings in the high frequencies.
Display & Control: Equipped with a digital FL tube display (fluid level indication) and smooth touch button control.
Functions: Auto-Space Rec Mute (for automatic silences between songs), autoplay and a headphone jack.
