HISTORY/OVERVIEW:
Introduced in the late 1970s, the Saab 900 Turbo is considered a milestone in Swedish engineering, renowned for its distinctive aircraft-inspired design, high level of passive safety and the use of turbocharging in a production car intended for everyday use. The 5-door variant combined great versatility with the iconic turbocharged 2.0-litre, 8-valve B201 engine, fitted with a Garrett turbocharger and capable of producing 145 hp. The example offered here was registered on 14 May 1982 through the Sidauto dealership in Settimo Torinese (the historic official Italian importer) and belongs to the rare MY'82 production run, distinguished by the exclusive “Saab” badge at the front. The car had just one previous owner (born in 1942), was always kept under cover and regularly driven, covering a certified total of 137,615 kilometres. It comes with its complete original tool kit, a folder containing the owner's manual and service book, and two keys with period keyrings.
BODYWORK/PAINTWORK:
The body is finished in Slate Blue metallic (code 112) and was fully repainted several years ago due to normal wear over time; the vehicle has never been involved in any impacts or accidents. The four black plastic wheel-arch trims were recently fitted. The car is equipped with a sunroof, alloy wire-spoke wheels specific to the 1982 model year, headlamp washers and Michelin TRX tyres with an estimated 80% of tread remaining.
INTERIOR:
The cabin retains its factory configuration, with well-preserved beige velvet seat upholstery and no repairs. The dashboard is intact, with none of the typical sun-induced crazing or cracks. Equipment includes front electric windows, central locking, heated seats, four headrests, five seat belts and a battery isolator; the vehicle has never had a radio or auxiliary gas system (LPG or methane) fitted, leaving the panels free of holes for speakers or antennas. The only point to note is that the headliner is partially detached. The entire electrical system is fully operational.
MECHANICALS:
The mechanical components are in excellent running order and have been consistently maintained with regular servicing. Shortly before its recent purchase, significant preventive work was carried out, including a complete overhaul of the fuel-injection system, fuel lines and entire exhaust system, as well as replacement of all fluids and filters. The 2.0-litre, 8-valve turbo engine and 5-speed manual gearbox operate correctly. The vehicle currently has a valid roadworthiness inspection, renewed every two years.
DOCUMENTS:
The car is supplied with its original historic black number plates from the province of Turin (TO), its original period registration document, the original supplementary ownership document and its ASI historic registration certificate.
The car can be viewed and test-driven by appointment.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
