Description from the seller

Restrung Terracotta Bead Necklace – Ancient Egypt

Elegant necklace composed of numerous terracotta beads, in the ancient Egyptian tradition, currently strung together in a long strand measuring approximately 40 cm.

The small beads—approximately 4 to 10 mm—feature a characteristic disc-shaped and cylindrical form, with slight irregularities typical of handmade pieces. They retain an attractive range of natural hues, from ochre and sand to brown and darker earthy tones, creating a particularly harmonious ensemble.

The matte surface, color variations, and small signs of wear give the piece a strong archaeological presence. The considerable length of the necklace makes it possible to appreciate the rhythmic sequence of the beads and gives it a striking decorative effect, whether displayed in a showcase or mounted on a stand.

Cultural provenance: Ancient Egypt
Material: Terracotta
Total length: approx. 100 cm
Bead diameter: approx. 4 mm
Condition: consistent with its age, with wear, deposits, and variations in tone typical of the material.

An intimate and evocative piece, representative of the tradition of personal adornment in ancient Egypt, and especially appealing for a collection of Mediterranean and Near Eastern archaeology.
