The PM6005 is more than just an upgraded successor of the multiple award-winning PM6004. Much more. This exceptional integrated amplifier can be connected directly to a wide range of digital sources, and due to the unsurpassed DAC, new media can also ben integrated in an impressive audio experience. Marantz has maintained preamp and power amp sections with only discrete components; no IC can be found in the signal path. Not only do the specially selected separate components supply better quality than ICs, they also provide a much more detailed sound, and so more clarity and transparency. Furthermore. the shielded toroidal transformer has been kept at a low impedance, as well as the customised main capacitors. This also applies to all original features, like the five analog audio inputs including phono, two pairs of gilded speaker connections with handy bi-wiring or speaker A/B, and the remote control: they are all still there. But the PM6005 now also offers optical and coaxial digital inputs to connect a large number of sources, like a digital media player to the network or a TV/TV box. The high quality Digital-Analogue-Converter (DAC) is the 24-bit/192 kHz high current CS4398, that has already proven itself in numerous premium products. The complete digital section is fully shielded with an additional metal housing, so the digital circuit cannot influence the analog signal. In short, the new PM6005 is a sound and perfect bridge to the future.
