This is a war version of the well-known German cockpit clock, also called Blindflieguhr.
The timepiece is a JunghansJ30BZ. 
Height: 7.5 cm, W 6 cm, D 3 cm
The item is still in very good condition and the clockwork is excellent, all functions work perfectly. 
These clocks were installed in various German aircraft during the war, especially in German fighter planes such as the Messerschmidt Bf 109E, Focke-Wulf Fw-190,
Junkers Ju-87, or Stuka and the ME262, etc.
They were called Blindflieguhren because you could use them to plan your course at night.
Pilots were ordered to take these clocks with them if their aircraft could not be saved, that’s how important they were.
It is in very good condition.
On the back, in the lower right, the red BAL(Bau Aufschigt Luft) stamp and the factory plate with the manufacturer’s name Junghans,Gerät-nr.:127-553A,Werk-nr.: 024998, the fact that the name Junghans is on it and not a code, means this is a timepiece that was produced early in the war (1939).
