Cannubi è considerato il Grand Cru del Barolo, un vino straordinario in fatto di stile ed eleganza. L’assoluta qualità delle uve provenienti dalla collina di Cannubi è determinata dalla particolare composizione del terreno: sono suoli poco evoluti, costituiti da marne argillose grigio-biancastre in superficie. Il terreno dove si trovano le vigne di Damilano ha un’alta percentuale di sabbia (fino al 45%) che regala alle uve profumi intensi di ciliegia, prugna e tabacco, rosa e viola in evoluzione. Poco potassio, buon calcio e magnesio conferiscono al vino finezza ed eleganza. Di colore intenso e vivo, il vino si presenta con una concentrazione polifenolica elevata. Allo sguardo colpisce il suo colore rosso rubino granato con limitata presenza di riflessi aranciati e un profumo ampio, avvolgente, con evidenti note fruttate di ciliegia e prugna e sentori evoluti di tabacco, liquirizia e cacao. All’assaggio il palato viene avvolto da un sapore armonico, piacevolmente secco, con tannini morbidi e con sensazioni di corposità e pienezza
