Baule masks are known in African art for the refinement of their features, with a mouth pouting forwards and half-closed eyes.  
The summit of the mask is topped by a hairstyle ornamented with imposing braids. 
The Baule live in the southeast of Ivory Coast.  They belong to the Akan group.  We can notice that their craftsmanship is not frightening.  The living conditions of the Baule are certainly among the best ones in the country, that shows up on their serene masks and sophisticated statuary.
