A very nice and large exhibition poster designed by Jim Dine in 1983.

Dimensions of the sheet are 80 x 54 cm. In mint condition.

This exhibition poster was designed by Jim Dine for the exhibition at Galerie Maeght in Paris.

This exhibition ran from 12th April 1983 to 20th May 1983.

Dine attended the University of Cincinnati and the Boston School of Fine and Applied Arts respectively and completed his studies in 1957 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ohio State University in Ohio. At the end of the fifties, Dine attracted attention with his participation in the so-called happenings in the Judson Gallery, founded with Claes Oldenburg and Allan Kaprow. He had his first solo exhibition in 1960 at the Reuben Gallery in New York. In 1962 he exhibited with Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Robert Dowd, Phillip Hefferton, Joe Goode, Edward Ruscha and Wayne Thiebaud, among others, during the groundbreaking New Painting of Common Objects exhibition at the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, California. This exhibition is considered the first pop art exhibition in the United States.
