John Bolt

Louis Kalff (1897-1976) heeft voor Philips vele iconische lampen ontworpen. Het ontwerp van deze lamp dateert uit de jaren 50 en toont een opvallende gelijkenis met het ontwerp van het Philips-expositiecentrum 'Evoluon'. Het architectonische meesterwerk van Louis Kalff dat in 1966 in Eindhoven werd gerealiseerd.  In de kap is de vorm van een ufo herkenbaar zodat deze lamp ook met de modelnaam ‘Ufo’ wordt aangeduid. 

De kap en voet zijn mat groen gelakt en vormt een mooie combinatie met de zwarte lak van de staander. Aan het snoer zit een mooie stekker in wit bakeliet. De perforaties in de kap zorgen voor een bijzonder lichteffect. Lamp is gereinigd, gecontroleerd en waar nodig hersteld in origineel benaderende staat. Een prachtige lamp die vanwege zijn tijdloos ontwerp past in een eigentijds interieur.
