Kompas uit een bommewerper uit de 2e wereldoorlog. Het is een kompas: A.F. .S. Army type D-12 dat tot 1945 gefabriceerd werd bij Bendixaviation Corporation New Jersey U.S.A. Meer informatie staat op hetplaatje bevestigdaan de zijlant van het kompas. Het is een vloeistofkompas, waaruit de vloeistof gelaten is. Het is kompleet en vrij gaaf. De draaiende kompasroos in de vorm van een kruis draait stroef, doch kan afgesteld worden. tijdens het transsport kan de roos scheef vallen. Deze kan weer boven op het staafje gezet worden door een beetje met kompas te schudden. Het kompas werd onder andere gebruikt in de bekende bommenwerpers uit wwII, de B17, de B24 en de B29. Ook werd het gebruikt in de C47)Dakota'  Het kompas is vervaardigd in 1943, wat vermeld staat in het serienummer op het genoemde plaatje. Zie voor beleving en verdere details de foto´s
