Beautifull model of 1966 LOTUS ELAN (Type 36) S/E Coupe in red colour finish, produced by AUTOart in 1/18 scale. Superb, high-end model with stunning details, well known for AUTOart millennium edition models. 

Model ELAN was the first Lotus road car to use a steel backbone chassis with a fibreglass body. At 1,600 lb (726 kg), the Elan embodied the Colin Chapman minimum weight design philosophy, which started with all-fiberglass Lotus Elite of 1957. The original Elan 1500 was introduced in 1962 as a roadster, than came The Elan 1600 of 1963 and was replaced by the Elan S2 in 1964. In 1966, Lotus introduced the Series 3 (S3) Elan and added a fixed-head Coupe model and an S/E package, for "special equipment". The S/E included a 115-hp high-lift cam version of the 1558 cc engine with top speed of 120-mph/h.
