An official edition would eventually be published by G.A. van Oorschot in 2016.

Lot contains:

Max de Jong - Diary I 1947-1948
Max de Jong - Diary II 1949
Max de Jong - Diary III 1950-1951
Max de Jong - Annotations

Attached is a letter, "copy to photocopy - HvS." HvS = Hans van Straten. Hans van Straten was friends with Max de Jong.

This letter (Bergen, 9 February 1972) comes from J. Hemelrijk and is addressed to the publisher Geert van Oorschot. In it, Hemelrijk urges the publication of Het Dagboek van Max de Jong. He, not mincing his words, presses the publisher to ignore the objections of Max's sister Lidi.

All from the library of Bert Voeten. He wrote his name in front of the four volumes. On the back of the letter Bert Voeten wrote: "His uncle, Dr. Jaap Hemelrijk".

The covers are slightly discolored. A few small pencil marks by Bert Voeten in the margins. The underlines in the text are also pressed in.
