A very large Victorian fan, ca 1890.
During the period of ca 1885-1895 fans were at their largest ever.
First it was matching with the tournure, later with the huge ballon sleeves.
This one has a bone monture and a gauze leaf, handpainted with flower garlands and birds. Aparantly no signature
The monture finely carved and pierced, in a very good state. Note that the leaf has,some damage (repairs)
Length 35 cm, width 66 cm
