Diplomatosi allo IED di Milano come illustratore, dal 2005 inizia la sua collaborazione con diversi editori italiani e stranieri nell’ambito della narrativa e ludica Fantasy. Tra i suoi committenti Wizards of The Coast, Paizo Publishing, Privateer Press, Applibot inc. Oltre al Fantasy si è cimentato anche nell’editoria per ragazzi lavorando per clienti come Mondadori, Lisciani Giochi, Edizioni Piemme e Salani. Dal 2013 insegna come docente di Illustrazione Digitale e Concept Art presso la Scuola Internazionale dei Comics di Padova. È il copertinista ufficiale della storica serie di librigame di Lone Wolf, creata da Joe Dever negli anni ottanta, divenuta un successo mondiale in poco tempo e pubblicata in Italia da Vincent Books Editore. Dopo la recente scomparsa di Joe Dever, Alberto Dal Lago è stato scelto per far parte della giuria del premio per le nuove iniziative editoriali dedicato a Dever da Lucca Comics & Games.
