Technics RS-1506US – Isolated Loop – Fully Revisited – 4-Track
One of the most iconic legends of analog audio.
I am offering for sale this magnificent Technics RS-1506US (4-track version), produced during the golden age of Japanese Hi-Fi (circa 1977-1980). This model is famous for its unique “Isolated Loop” tape transport system with quartz-controlled direct drive, providing exceptional rotational stability.
Condition and Revision:
The unit has undergone a full professional overhaul. It is visually in superb condition (see high-resolution photos) and fully functional for playing and recording.
Important technical note (Brakes):
For complete transparency, I should note that when stopping after a fast rewind/repositioning (advance or rewind), the braking is slightly lackluster, creating a small “slack” in the tape before immobilization. This is a minor point that does not affect sound quality or everyday use, but a simple tension adjustment can be performed by the future owner for absolute perfection.

NAB Adapters: A pair of high-quality adapters (Revox-style) for 26.5 cm reels.
Metal Reels: Two legendary 10.5" (26.5 cm) reels included: one Maxell and one Akai.
Tapes: The reels contain magnetic tapes. Note: The recordings on these tapes were not made on this Technics; listening quality may vary depending on the original alignment. However, the recording tests conducted on this machine after the revision were excellent.
