Helmut Gerigk, born 1953, here are 3 original acrylic artworks by the German artist, also called the German Dali. Here you can clearly see with every brushstroke the proximity to Salvador Dali. The artist Helmut Gerigk was born on 14.3.1953 in Wiesbaden as the son of Regierungsdirektor Walter Gerigk. His artistic talent had already shown itself in elementary school. Gerigk attended the Wiesbaden Free Art School under Professor Becker. Gerigk was a co-founder of the street festival “Theatrium.” Gerigk often visited his friend Salvador Dali in Port Lligat / in whose house. Gerigk is a recipient of the Salvador Dali Award and an honorary member of the Artists’ Guild St. Luke’s of Antwerp. Works by Gerigk are distributed around the world and have participated in over 100 exhibitions worldwide.
Style: the painting style of Gerigk represents classical Surrealism and is often referred to as the successor of Salvador Dalí. His works are characterized by surreal dreamlike motifs, which often serve as a homage to Dalí.
Influences: Helmut Gerigk was a good friend of Salvador Dalí, whom he frequently visited in Cadaqués from 1974 to 1979; he also often visited Dalí at his Paris studio. These encounters awakened his passion, visions, and dreams to paint in fantastical images.
