A folio-volume, bound in half Havane calf (19th century), title pages and half-titles, gilt borders with roulette, stamped motifs. Wear, cracked spines. Interiors good, some scattered foxing (see photos).

Volume containing the botanical plates numbered 501 to 730, copper-engraved. Absence of title page, 8 plates missing (547, 590, 592, 636, 645, 690, 706, 745).

Each plate depicts one or more plant species according to Linnaean classification (e.g., Didynamia, Gymnospermia), with botanical details: flowers, fruits, seeds, calyxes, corollas, etc.
