Masque - bois - punu - Gabon 

Statue africaine de l'ethnie Punu. Cette figure africaine était utilisée pour le culte des ancêtres. Cette pièce est incrustée de pigment de blanc épais comme le sont très souvent les célèbres masques du Mukiyu ou Okuyi des Punu et sous-groupes. On trouve sur le front la célèbre scarification en losange présent sur les masques également.
La cavité dans le torse servait vraisemblablement à insérer des ossements du défunt à la façon des Kota et Mbete qui faisaient de leurs statues des reliquaires.
