Description from the seller
A very special and abstract work by the Cobra painter Lucebert (Lubertus Swaanswijk).
Lucebert was as a painter closely involved with the Amsterdam branch of the experimental COBRA group.
The work was purchased in January 2002 from Fine Art Dealers E.J. van Wisselingh & Co in Haarlem / Mr. Willem de Winter and subsequently provided with a nice suitable display frame.
Mr. de Winter is known as an expert in modern art on the TV program "Tussen Kunst en Kitch".
The authenticity of the work has been confirmed in writing by Mr. de Winter.
At the same time as the purchase, Mr. de Winter prepared an official appraisal report (Value January 2002 excluding frame: €8,000).
Copies of all official documents are included.
Mr. de Winter describes the work as follows:
"It is a rare early and abstract painting by Lucebert, something that only a few people have ever seen before and perhaps not even believed possible. That is exactly what makes art so fascinating."
