L’opera “Symphony in Black” è una delle creazioni più iconiche di Erté, maestro indiscusso dello stile Art Déco. Raffigura una donna elegante, alta e slanciata, avvolta in un abito nero lungo e aderente che esalta la sua figura con grazia e raffinatezza. Il suo aspetto regale è accentuato da un imponente mantello piumato, stilizzato in una spirale che si apre alle sue spalle come un simbolo di teatralità e opulenza. La donna tiene al guinzaglio un levriero nero, compagno fedele ed emblema di stile, raffinatezza e velocità.

L’intera composizione realizzata su foglia di argento è costruita con linee nette, curve sinuose e un uso sapiente del contrasto cromatico, giocando principalmente su toni neutri e neri, con accenti metallici che ne accentuano l’eleganza. Il volto enigmatico e i tratti marcati della figura femminile contribuiscono a creare un’aura di mistero e potere.
Questa stampa è stata pubblicata da Mirage Editions a Santa Monica, California, in collaborazione con la Grosvenor Gallery di Londra.
