The violin bears a label indicating it was made by Karl Güsner, likely a German luthier from the late 19th or early 20th century, as suggested by the inscription “1870.” This aligns with the German violin-making tradition prevalent in the Markneukirchen area, known for robust craftsmanship.

The f-holes exhibit the classic German rounded style, and the back features highly figured maple, a hallmark of quality from this region. The varnish has a warm brownish-red tone, typical of violins from this period and locale, enhancing the wood’s natural flame and contributing to the instrument’s aesthetic. The overall construction is in line with Germanic methods, focused on producing a balanced, rich tone.
