Chinese porcelain plate from Jingdezhen, decorated in polychrome enamels in green/iron red with scrolls and stylised motifs, Qing dynasty, late 19th to early 20th century, diameter 18 cm, height 3 cm, signed, provenance private collection, apocryphal Kangxi mark, good overall condition with a small edge chip.
Description from the seller
Old Chinese porcelain plate, probably produced in Jingdezhen at the end of the Qing dynasty, circa 1880–1920.
The piece is decorated with polychrome enamels on glaze, in a palette characteristic of the green family / red family, with floral scrolls, stylized motifs in radial arrangement, and archaizing decorative inscriptions.
The composition is inspired by the décors of the Kangxi period (1662–1722), but corresponds to a late traditional production intended for the domestic market or export.
The reverse side bears a Kangxi mark with four characters within a square, considered apocryphal, a common practice on Chinese porcelains from the 19th to early 20th centuries.
Condition of preservation
Good overall condition considering its age.
Presence of a small chip on the edge (see photos).
Normal wear and cooking imperfections for this type of antique porcelain.
