Item Description
This is a vintage mandolin, model No. 228, crafted in 1970 by Suzuki Violin Co., Ltd. in Nagoya, Japan. It features a classic teardrop-shaped body with a bowl-back design, known for its bright and projecting tone. The instrument is adorned with a dark tortoiseshell-style pickguard and a decorative wooden tailpiece, along with detailed rosette inlay around the soundhole. All strings are present and free from rust, and the machine heads (tuners) function smoothly, ensuring it remains playable. While the original hard case shows signs of wear, with surface peeling and non-functional lock (no key), it still provides solid protection for transport and storage.
