Lightly peated and distilled 2.5 ppm, Springbank has chosen this time to look for a strong influence from its maturation. Indeed, the ageing took place in oak barrels that contained Bourbon (45%), Sherry (first filling, 20%), rum (20%) and Port (15%). Thus the peaty character of Springbank is coated by the greediness of the above-mentioned barrels. The Springbank 21 Year Old - 2022 is a whisky from the town of Campbeltown, limited to 3600 bottles.
