Large Tang-Style Terracotta Horse - Chestnut Glaze – With S.A.C.H. Export Seal is a Terracotta and Earthenware sculpture in the Late 20th century Tang dynasty style.
Description from the seller
Striking terracotta horse statue in the Tang Dynasty style, featuring a proud arched neck, expressive face with open mouth, and strong, well-modeled musculature. The warm chestnut-colored surface shows attractive natural variations and age-appropriate wear, adding to its character and visual appeal.
Close-up inspection reveals a beautiful, fine craquelure across the glazed surface — evenly distributed and consistent with traditional kiln-firing techniques — enhancing the statue's depth, authenticity, and tactile charm.
This is a larger and unusually fine example of its type, supported on a flat base with typical firing marks. The statue bears an official S.A.C.H. wax seal, confirming it passed China’s state cultural export inspection — often reserved for authentic antiquities or high-quality early reproductions (typically during the mid-20th century or earlier).
Condition:
Overall very good condition, with natural surface aging.
The right ear was previously reattached; the repair is stable and professionally done.
No other visible cracks or restorations. Please inspect all photos closely.
Dimensions:
Height: 42 cm. length: 43 cm. depth: 14,5 cm.
