Collection belge d'art tribal africain. Profonde boîte à couvercle plaquée de feuille de cuivre et ornée de différentes figures d'ancêtres gardiens du Byeri. Les Kota habitent la partie orientale du Gabor qui est riche en minerai de fer, et certains en République du Congo. Le forgeron, out la sculpture sur bois, fabriquait les outils destinés aux travaux agricoles ainsi que de armes rituelles. Les sculptures jouant le rê de "médium" entre les vivants et les morts qui veillaient sur les descendants, étaient associées aux rites au bwete, comparable ceux des Fang. Elles sont parfois bifaces,le mbulu-viti, symbolisant l'aspect masculin e féminin à la fois. Ces sculptures stylisées, nommées ngulu, faisaient office de "gardien des reliques au-dessus des paniers contenant les restes mortuaires des48cm41cm
