Description from the seller

Following on the heels of his breathtaking, award-winning Nudes, the author focuses his astute camera on the female form in this sumptuous new collection, Powerful, sensuous and technically magnificent Bitesnich's photographs embrace the classic ideal of womanly beauty and transform it into a sublimely artistic exercise of form, composition and contrast. Photographed in locations that took the artist all over the world. Bitesnich's women are strong, shapely and uncompromisingly erotic. Here the human body is a unique landscape with clean lines, graceful undulations and an unmistakable presence in the space it occupies. By treating his models as truly artistic objects-abstract, architectural and natural, Bitesnich approaches his celebration of women with the insight and originality of a true master.

Woman is a volume dedicated to interpreting the splendor of the female form through monochrome photography.
The book presents 72 black-and-white photographs, accompanied by texts in five languages—English, German, French, Italian, and Spanish—making it accessible to an international audience. With a hardcover format measuring 20.4 × 25.6 cm and comprising approximately 128 pages, the publication is both compact and refined.

In this work, Andreas H. Bitesnich celebrates the female figure with elegant and sensual images, interpreting the body not in an overtly erotic sense, but as an artistic and sculptural form. His compositions reveal a masterful use of light and contrast, transforming bodies into pure form—abstract, architectural, and organic.

Bitesnich’s photographic style is characterized by a highly graphic and dramatic aesthetic, in which the artistic nude becomes a meditative mode of expression: bodies are posed like living sculptures, with precise compositions and expert lighting that accentuate contours and shadows.
In Woman, he exalts the female form as architectural structure. The images are sophisticated and minimalist, yet deeply sensual, portraying the models as elements of light and shape, rather than mere photographic subjects.

The third edition, published in 2005, is the most widely circulated and technically refined version. While retaining the original portfolio of images, it introduces:
A slightly more compact format (20.4 × 25.6 cm), practical yet elegant
A high-quality hardcover, aimed at the collector’s and museum markets
Simultaneous translations in five languages, more cohesively integrated into the graphic layout
Cleaner typography and improved page design, without altering the original image sequence
This edition marked the editorial success of the book, expanding its presence in international bookstores and contemporary art photography circuits.

Andreas H. Bitesnich is one of Austria’s most renowned contemporary photographers, known for his fusion of portraiture, fine-art nude, and urban landscape photography.
He began as a self-taught photographer in the late 1980s and published his first major work, Nudes, in 1998, which won the prestigious Kodak Photography Book Award. Since then, he has produced several notable publications, including Woman (2001), Polanude (2005), and More Nudes (2007).
