Fables de La Fontaine, Nouvelle édition revised with notes by C. A. Walckenaer, in two complete volumes (Vol I: 264 pages; Vol II: 370 pages) published in Paris by Nepveu & L. de Bure in 1826, in original French, with dark blue full leather binding, gilt-decorated and blind-stamped boards and spine, marbled endpapers, gilt edges, a frontispiece and twelve engravings, and in good condition despite rubbing, wear to boards and spine and foxing throughout.

New and revised edition with a frontispiece depicting de La Fontaine and 12 beautiful engravings.
Rubbing, bumping and wear to the boards and spine. Tanning to the front board and spine, especially on the second volume. Pencil markings and pen inscription in both of the front flyleaves in the first volume and pencil markings in the front flyleaves of the second volume. Foxing and spotting throughout. The text and illustrations are clear, and the binding is tight. Overall, a handsome set in good condition,
